ExperienceI've got extensive work as a writing coach, from high school through graduate level education. I can teach you how to make your writing clearer and more effective by guiding you through the process of writing--from essay structure to the sentence level--and teaching you to free your voice in the process.
I've also tutored people on the history of philosophy, religion, and contemporary theory. I can teach you how to read and understand very difficult texts at a high level and with minimal pain.
I love to tutor because I'm passionate about ideas and believe that everyone has a native brilliance that shines through when our thinking, speaking, and writing is clear. So my goal is to help you learn those skills so that your ideas can take on flesh and enter strongly into the arena in which you'd like to contend.
HobbiesI am currently writing a non-fiction travel book and am planning to continue my doctoral studies in the fall. In my spare time I like to play board games with friends, go on long walks exploring the city, watch good movies, and entertain in my home. I love to laugh and believe that learning is one of the most fun and stimulating things we can do and love to impart that same perspective to my students.
