I enjoy assisting students in finding personal connections with their given subjects of study. Working one-to-one gives me the opportunity to create an approach for individualized learning unique to a student's learning style. By creating a focus on the most effective learning style, more information is able to be retained and students are able to recognize the manner in which they learn best. My goal as a tutor is to help students achieve their academic goals, build their skills, and help them find their confidence so that they can continue finding success and evolving as learners long after our relationship has ended. I have a strong background in Humanities, which gives me in-depth knowledge of structuring and executing written compositions and presentations. I am passionate about working to help students organize their ideas, insights, opinions, and thoughts into clear and precise formats. I have often found that a student's struggle with a written paper or presentation is not with their knowledge of the topic, but their lack of organization. As their tutor, I can help to develop techniques for creating outlines to help structure their thoughts so that they are able to take on assignments in composition and presentations with confidence.
