Education
I was educated at St. Mary of the Woods College with a degree in Elementary Education in 1994 with a 3.39 GPA. I also have a masters in education from Bellarmine University which was earned in 2003 with a GPA of 4.0.
Experience
I have many years experience in teaching. I taught first grade for 18 years at a parochial school here in Louisville,KY. I have also been tutoring a child in Language Arts and Math this past school year. Finally, I've been substituting in the JCPS district since January 2017. All of this experience makes me qualified to tutor chidren. I've really enjoyed working one on one with a child. It gives me great pleasure to help children succeed. This goal is more easily reached when working with one child at a time or in small groups. When working in such a way I can more easily pin point a child's struggles and gifts. I can allow them to thrive using their gifts while helping them overcome their challenges. Reading and Math are my gifts to share with children. I look forward to sharing those gifts with children to help succeed in life.

Hello! I think a great quality to have as an educator is patience. This is a quality that is a part of who I am as a person. I know that this quality will help me work through frustrations that any child may have while I am tutoring them. On a more personal level I am a twenty year resident of Louisville, KY. In my spare time I like to read, watch a good movie, play games and travel. Most of all I love spending time with my husband and 8 year old miniature Australian Shepard. I'm an avid dog lover. I also love spending time with my extended family and friends. My loved ones are very important to me. Finally, I was born to help. I feel that is important to give back what was given to you. I will do whatever it takes to make sure your child learns. I will take time to figure out what is important to him/her. Using their interests and prior knowledge helps to engage them in their own learning. In order to get an understanding of their prior knowledge I will also keep in touch with their regular classroom teachers. All of this is important to success.
